BHRMDA Profile
The Bulgarian Human Resources Management and Development Association - BHRMDA is a non-governmental organization established to support and develop professionals in the human resource management and development area and to raise the status of the profession as a whole.
Established in July 2000, currently the association has more than 650 individual and corporate members who work in the area of human resources management and development as company managers, human resource managers in Bulgarian and multinational companies, banks, public administration, training and development managers, HR consultants, and university lecturers.
BHRMDA is a member of the European Association for Personnel Management (EAPM) and of the World Federation of Personnel Management Associations (WFPMA).
BHRMDA organizes conferences with international participation, round tables, popularizes ideas and participates in pilot projects in the area of human resources development. The association circulates a monthly electronic bulletin for news and actual information, articles and interviews on HR topics.
Annually, BHRMDA organizes National conferences with international participation, at which well-known Bulgarian and international practicians, consultants and research workers in the HR area, experts from major companies and leading universities are introduced.
Several clubs are built up in the frames of the Association: Club of the academic representatives, Strategic and development club, Young HR club, HR in IT sphere club, Public Administration club, regional clubs. The aim of the Association and the club members is to popularize new findings, research results and real practices in HR sphere.
BHRMDA works on different projects, financed by the EU funds or other organizations. In February 2008 BHRMDA started a project, financed by the EU structure funds, Operational Programme Administrative Capacity (OPAC). The project title is: „BHRMDA – Efficiency and Professionalism in Human Resources Management and Development in Bulgaria”. Its objective is to enhance the institutional and organizational capacity of BHRMDA.
In December 2008 BHRMDA signed a contract for a Mobility in Estonia within LLP, Leonardo da Vinci Programme. Partner is the Estonian Association for People Management (PARE). Its purpose is to obtain experience related to PARE’s practices in HR Standards developing.
Applying contemporary models in human resources management is key to a company`s prosperity – a fact proved by international practice and one of the working principles of BHRMDA.
The Managing Board is aiming to achieve high standards and general recognition for the HR profession in Bulgaria as a member of the European Union.
